90' | 236.5ohm |
Does the sensor meet the manufacturer’s specifications why or why not?
Yes, the sensor meets the manufacture's specification because we got 2.1kohm at 22'c and about 236ohm when it is hot 90'c.The resistance drops when the temperature increases.
What type of thermistor is this?
Negative temperature co-efficient (NTC) type of thermistor.
Explain the internal operation of the sensor?
CTS (Cooland Temperature Sensor), THW (Thermistor water) and ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature), these sensors job is to let the ECU know the temperature of various parts of the engine from the air going in, to the coolent circulating around the engine and also to turn the radiator fan on after a certin temperature so the engine wouldn't over heat. The ECT (thermistor) is an negative temperature coifficent sensor, this mean that is temperature goes up resistance and voltage goes down. When the temperature increases, the reisistance will be lower and higher voltage signal was sent to ECU.
